Video: Cordover on Collaborative Divorce

July 7, 2016/0 Comments/in Collaborative Divorce, Family Law News //Tags: collaborative divorceby Adam

Tampa Bay collaborative attorney and Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator Adam B. Cordover discusses collaborative divorce in the following short video:

“Most families do not want to be enemies, they do not want to be warring against one another.  And so I have been inspired by these families, and I have found that most want a private option,” says Cordover in the video.

“I have found that most business owners do not want their property and assets in the public court file.  Most people simply want to move on with their lives and have a peaceful way to go through divorce.”

“In the courtroom, you are adversaries.  It is mother versus father, husband versus wife…In the collaborative process, I have found that people are open to the more human element, to apologies, and to other things that can help the case move forward.”

“In collaborative divorce, I have seen that parents don’t attack one another, but rather they learn to co-parent with one another.  They are able to end their marriage but also learn to move on to the next stage in their lives.”
