Pee-Wee Herman’s Name Change

Many of us remember Pee-Wee Herman from the Groundlings and children’s programming and movies in the 1980’s.  More recently, you may have seen Paul Reubens, the man who plays Pee-Wee, appear on various TV shows, including the Blacklist, Portlandia, and Reno 911.

But, what you may not know is before Paul Reubens was Pee-Wee Herman, he was Paul Rubenfeld.

According to a recent article in the New York Times, Paul was born to Milton and Judy Rubenfeld and raised in Sarasota, Florida.  In the 1970’s, as he was getting more into theater and acting, the future children’s TV icon decided to change his name from Paul Rubenfeld to Paul Reubens.

If you are a resident of Florida and you wish to change your legal name, you may do so by petitioning a court in the county in which you live and asking a judge to change your name.  Feel free to schedule a consultation with Family Diplomacy: A Collaborative Law Firm to find out how you can take on a new name.  You may call us at (813) 443-0615 or CLICK HERE to fill out our consultation form.
