Florida Supreme Court Certifies Adam B. Cordover As Family Mediator

September 25, 2015/0 Comments/in Family Law News //Tags: collaborative mediation, mediationby Adam

Family Diplomacy managing attorney Adam B. Cordover has been certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Mediator.  Certification is reserved for those who meet the Florida Supreme Court’s qualifications, attend a 40-hour mediation course, and engage in observations and co-mediations for training purposes.

Florida Supreme Court Mediator

Adam’s current mediation rate is $125 per party for the first two hours (with a minimum of two hours), and $125 per party per hour thereafter (this rate is valid through December 31, 2015).  Adam brings his experience as a leading collaborative professional to his mediation practice, where he encourages a style in which both parties begin and remain in the same room for most of the session.  This ensures that communication may be direct, but respectful, and that divorce and family law issues may be handled as efficiently as possible.

Further, Adam is a strong proponent of collaborative mediation.  This is a unique process where the parties each have attorneys who may or may not attend the mediation session to advise them.  The attorneys review any draft settlement agreements and provide legal advice on an as-needed basis.  Further, the attorneys confirm via a participation agreement that they will not engage in court battles or litigation on behalf of their clients so that mediation sessions may remain resolution-focused.
